95 vmax wont idle and dies giving throttle??

Need help, the sled I just sold is dieing when you give it throttle. Says it only runs with the choke...barely. And soon as the choke is off it dies.

Other issues that might be incorporated to problem?? taillight just stopped working as well???

OKAY, soon as you hit the throttle the tros dummy light comes one. Can that sensor be unhooked and by-passed???

Tailight was a loose wire, problem fixed.....Still wondering about the by-pass?? :o|
 
yes you can bypass it. There are two wires going to the carbs. To bypass the system, unplug the wires, and plug each side into itself (they are male and female) If it doesn't idle well, the pilot jets may be plugged. Take the carbs out and clean everything really well.
 
Thanks, I will let him know. I just cleaned the carbs before he bought it. I can do it again if that doesnt work. Just didnt want to wrench on a sled when its snowing ;)! Brent
 
I have the answer to your ?. It is called 1/2 inch of ice in the bottom of the carbs. Had the carbs off that damn thing 4 times, and got water out every time. Drained the tank, cleaned the carbs, put in some good fresh 91 octane, and she runs like a top. bad part is missed out on riding to get it fixed. The front strut sicior(sp) bolts where all mucked up too, and wouldn't allow the front end to move. What a mess. Maxdlx
