Im in the market for a new helmet as my good old HJC is just getting too small. I really do like it alot and definitely dont want to downgrade. The new 509 evol looks nice but ive never used or seen a 509 helmet. I could just opt for a similar HJC helmet but whats the fun in that? And what about GMAX helmets? Has anybody owned a 509 or GMAX helmet? any opinions?
A friend of mine has a 509 helment and really likes it, he doesn't say the same about their goggles though.

My wife has used a g-max for years now. Seems like a decent helmet. She got a new afx this year, but hasn't used it at all due to our wonderful winter here in MN. I'm using an HJC. It's been a good helmet.
As for the goggles - We have 4 or 5 sets of the 509's. Not the aviators though. Never had any issues and actually prefer them to my oakley wisdoms. Now running the fan module in a couple of sets and have 0 fogging issues. They were good before, but in the right/wrong situation I'd fog them. They are really nice now. My 2 cents.

This winter has been awful! by this time last year i would have put on atleast 1000miles already. I am honestly puzzled is to what is up with the weather. I really like the looks and price of the GMAX, im not in to modular helmets since the have airleak and fog issues so im looking at the GM76X. Probably going to purchase one next week because it seems like it gets good reviews. If your using a Snow/Motorcross helmet i would highly suggest investing in a neoprene face mask. they are around 10-15$ and work wonders!
i'm a full face guy...i have a BRP Vision 180 and i love it!
i really love pulldown tinted visor

I have the 509 serious helmet and i love it. I also have the aviators for it and i would say they are their best goggle forsure. I would recommend it to anyone

I've been using a HJC fullface for a few years now, I like it. Last fall I bought an open face and goggles but since I haven't had a chance to use them (thanks to the non-winter we are having) I don't even remember what brand they are, nor can I tell you how well they work...

Ive tried cat full face helmets and they just didnt work...too much leakage, used a HJC full face and had fog issues. Never tried a BRP helmet tho, they are expensive but from what i hear they are worth it. thanks for the opinion on the aviators, they look really cool! just like the sunglasses i use when i go flying . looks like 509 dosnt sell that helmet anymore and ive heard good and bad about the evol.

I use HJ6 CL-X6 with Scott 89Xi goggles. Works well. Need a good balaclava with the MX helmet. Also use the HJC IS-Max with the built in sunshield for the real cold days. So far no need for the full face yet this season.

:O where is that!? look at all of that snow! that isnt this yr right? That must be the evol, looks like a nice helmet and fits nice. anybody heard of a Scorpion helmet? went to the yammie dealer today and they had 509, HJC, Fuel, Fox, and Scorpion with airbags! the 509 did fit nice!! and if its warm i might just go with that and an aviator combo. Still havnt found a GMAX helmet to try on. HJC helmets havnt changed much, felt the same as mine except larger.

I have a HJC but gave it to the girlfriend to wear now. I wear glasses and picked up a CKX and love it. No fogging up and no problems with wearing my spectacles..

That was last weekend near dorset Ontario in Canada. I personally use a Klim F4 helmet but they are a little pricey. 509 is much cheaper and is almost as good.Polamaha said::O where is that!? look at all of that snow! that isnt this yr right?
