One of my buddies has a Polaris xtra 10 skid from a 97 600 and he said if I wanted too put it in my sx I could. Just wondering if anyone has done this and were I could get the specs on were the mounting holes need to be. Also wondering if it would be worth the time. The ten inche travel would be nice but I don't want too rough of a ride.

Check out www.jbshocks.com, they have x10 mounting hole locations. I have used there info, so I know it works. You will need to also make shims of some sort, since the x10 is narrower than the proaction skid. I think you just use some 1/4" aluminum plates along with your stock plates. measure the difference in the 2 skids and you'll see.

This swap's a no-brainer if the X10 is free. For a Yamaha I'd use the JB Shocks measurements for the distances between mounting holes but probably not for distance from the top of the tunnel (at least not before I lined the skid up in the tunnel to see where the rails sit). The Yamaha tunnel might be different and there are different styles of X10's.

Ok so what I had done looks to be alot like the pics BUT When I go to rais the rear of the skid to line up the two back bolts the track gets so tight and it has a wierd pitch on the track at the front where the drive cogs are ogh and it almost sits like a drag sled to lol. I will try to attach pics.

does your sled sit a little higher in the rear then stock?? Also do you a pic of you sled?

Thanks.
