i just cleaned my carbs and was wondering if i should put a in line fuel filter in somewhere just because there is fuel from last winter still in the tank i put startron in it but it still clogged my pilot jets.or will i be ok to fuel up with fresh gas.

I'd start with all fresh gas. Siphon the old all the way out.
Yes you should find a dealer that can sell you a Racor water removing inline filter!

Have you replaced the stock fuel filter yet? Drain the gas, replace the filter, be sure carbs are clean and you should be good.

i never realized there was a fuel filter already on it is it visible?

It's inside the tank on the pickup line. Also screens inside the carbs.
