Now that I have the srx sorted out I started to look at the wife's 2000 venture 600. I rode it a fair bit last week and while it was ok, it seemed a little weak on the bottom end power and would like to rev up too 9000 rpm when you really got on the gas, which, by the way seemed to use a lot of. The plugs are black, the outside of the triple exhaust manifold is white and the airbox is full of oil! Starts up fine although it doesn't really need any choke at all to start cold. Pulled the muffler off to see if it was plugged but it seemed ok, no critters. I did get some smaller jets for the carbs and am cleaning them, they don't seem dirty. Going to check the reeds for any danage right now but if anyone has any more ideas I would love to hear them. Big storm coming here tomorrow' it better be good.

Ton,s of posts about the 600 triple overrevving...clutching is wacked plus check alignment & centre to centre. Some oil/gas mixture in the airbox is normal..it is a 2-stroke!
