after looking at this this morning maybe i was misinformed yesterday by a friend i thought new his yammis.. i will have to have wifey find the camera .. but i see the tab on my front shock mount is broken and my rail is worn but i was under the understanding that the front shock mount was helped out by riding the groove that stops on the rail where the mount attatches to the rail.. i was misinformed..

yeah but them grooves will wear out and the.little side plates that attach to rail that is supposed to help also do crack.Had to weld my end pieces .Also when installing the cross shaft that the shock mounts to,apply weld bond first and then install shaft to the rails. When the weld bond dries hard..it will aid in any movement in the groove of shaft and guide on rails. It becomes basically 1 piece with no movement. It is the movement and twisting of the shaft on the rail that cause's things to wear and break.

thank you very much the shock mount fix is a great idea.. thats what this turned out to be when my tab broke off it left a groove that looked like it was supposed to straddle the rail ..
