I have an 01 SRX 700, shouldn't the track spin, ratchet, or be easily spun by hand when the track is raised? Could this be why my top speed seems less than most other SRX's, my belt deflection is just too tight? Thanks!

my track spins slowly up on a stand today after my run.Check your deflection for sure.

kind of a fine line between 2 tight and 2 loose. loose as is possible before ratcheting i guess. i think general rule is about a 20 lb. weight hung from middle of track looking for about an inch of gap
judging from your last thread you were saying it was too lose with the ratcheting... how much did you tighten it? if at all? if center to center is good etc. i would ollk into bearings if the track itself isnt too tight. or c.2.c. isnt off with proper primary belt deflection.

jason u should not be so concerned with the actual top speed. how quick u get 2 90-100 or so is what u should shoot for

Right but it's just curious how the top end doesn't match up with other stock SRX's, I was just wondering what the contributing factors were.
andrew k track is much tighter now, no ratcheting. Can't remember if track spun when lifted off the ground before it was tightened, it must have, unless my belt deflection is poor. Distance from top of belt to tip of secondary is within spec. Haven't measured the middle of the belt to see if it's within 1.5" movement when forced downward, seems okay by eye balling it.
