Viper no spark

Just workin on trouble shooting my Buddys 05 Viper M.
Sled has a few issues we have taken care of. But more keep poppin up and one we cant cure.
Frozen fuel delayed yesterdayz ride , we got it running in garage ( overheated it )
loaded it up , drove 2.5 hrs & no spark . We left him in the town bar (man Rule #

I found some crisp tape on temp sensor wires and throttle & oil cable have plastic cover melted a bit. (not sure how hot he gotten engine in garage but I think HOT )
one of the tempsensor wires was broke @ plug
my ??? is will this open circut on tempsensor prevent spark thru CDI Box

#2 prob : Sled has always had a backfire or pop at times ? Previous owner couldnt correct either.
we did find exhaust manifold issue already & had it welded up.
last yr when sled is or was running good it performed just as good as mine (exact same sled)but his has 3k+ miles on it. But it would pop sometime.
thought we had it ,when finding the cracked manifold.

tough one to say... mabey test the stator with a multimeter and see if it is in spec. but then again now that i am thinking about it if he has melty wires it would be a good time to go through the wire harness as well. pull a cap off and put a plug in it ground the ground strap on the plug onto the engine by holding it there and see if you get a spark from the electrode to the ground strap on the plug. while someone is pulling the engine over with the pull start.

just disconnected temp sensor on my 02 viper still fired. wish i could tell u more. sounds like maybe a short occured somewhere. popping could be from bad plug caps

Follow the wires that come off the stator , you will find it somewhere it will split toward two different connectors . One with 3 wires I thing , kind of rectangular, and one with only two wires , with an oval shaped connector , these 2 have some kinf of cotton cover instead of plastic or rubber. You might find a broken wire there . My son's Viper had that problem last week , one wire was broken, we fixed it and since then it works great . 500 miles this week ! sorry about my poor english....

I have harness apart and will keep diggin then.
I will test stator and see what I find.

How do i get the connector apart ?????

Just checked stator . Got .6 ohms @ room temp on all 3 . Thats out of spec right ????
I got 203 ohms on two wire connector.
Buddy has another stator for his sled , Just ??? if the one in sled is toast??

Changed the stator and the sled started 1st frickin pull
I checked the replacement stator and got the same .6 ohms
b4 installin it???
Whatever, the Viper runs .

it runs but there is no snow to run on...good job anyways.
