1.)yes, usually just peel a stock veiper gasket and use 1 layer, check squish clearance.
2.) same as 1st question
3.) headplate was pretty much a gimmick, no differance in that, you dont need to use it.

I think the head plate was for very high compression motors and racing applications. If you seize them on the upstroke the four cylinder corner mounts break off. Then the cylinder is junk. At least that how I remember it and I may be wrong. Keep in mind the hard drive is full and sectors are becoming corrupt fast.

I have yet to ever see that happen.... and run 210lbs of compression in full race engines, sorry but just cant buy that snake oil. With the thick rear cylinder dowels and the large base stud size youd be hard pressed to move the cylinder, and certainly a 1/8" thick aluminum plate simply bolted to the head bolts wouldnt take much to bend, think about how much the cylinder is clamped at base and then a plate on top will keep it from breaking....
it was also said to be worth 2 mph...lol, was a great sales pitch add on sale I am sure though...LOL
I know its just what you were told, I am referring to the original manufacturer claims.

Wow two MPH gain now that is hilarious. Who am I to argue. I just remember the the claim that the plate provides cylinder stability.
