Took both 98 srx's down to the river last nite. Temp was about 20 f . My dads stock 700 seemed to be loading up on low rpm, even backfired a couple of times. Anything over 7000 rpm and it would run perfect. sled only has 1050 miles and i just went thru the carbs( yes there was crap in the jets). I've read low end loss with powervalves inop, how much loss? Then on my 700 it was flat out ripping, until..........came off the river heading for the shop and the chain snapped. I just replaced the track, and when i disassembled the chain seemed very loose, it was actually leaving marks on the case. Could i have overtightened it and caused it to snap, or possibly just bad chain.

After getting the chain out i noticed it also broke the inside chain case! Dad asked about putting reverse on his, so what year's do ihave to be looking for? Just viper with reverse? Or is there others that'll fit?

Just to add insult to injury, while loading the sled on the trailer( tracke locked) ended up on my *** 5 ft in front of the sled with half a ski loop in my hand!!

Bad sparkplugs or sparkplug caps will make the motor load up at low rpms as well as the powervalves.
A reverse kit from any 97 and up proation sled will fit.
