I'm attempting to build a crankshaft that uses the 76-77 18mm rods on a later (79) bottom end.
Does anyone here have the "big end" measurement specs?
NOT the rod movement specs but the actual measurement.
Thanks

In what way is it a waste of time?
There's just more piston options for the 18mm rod.
Just wondering if there's a known rod combination.
Will look into the phaser rod, are they the correct length?
Do you know the big end specs 77 vs 78?????
TY

rods are the same length big end is the same too i will have to look up the specs for ya i use phazer rods on hte gpx's and the crank pins for the 78-80 srx crank are the same as gpx and phazer but you will need to use the srx crank pin as it is longer than the phazer pin and i know that the phazer rods work on the 76 srx as well i did all the measurements when i ran out of all of my nos rods for the gpx's which have the 18 mm pin but then again i have not needed to change rods for the 76 or 77 stuff as i do not run them i use a 78 srx case and crank with the 76 and 77 cylinders as pistons are a lot easier to get (20mm pin) either in wiseco or aftermarket that is why i think it is a waist of time

Thanks Nutz.
So as far as you know can I use a pair of 84-01 Phazer rods (8V0-11651) with the 78-80 SRX crank/bottom end (and I presume using the SRX bearings since the crank pin is longer)
SO
would another option be to use a pair 75GPX / 76SRX rods? (8A7-11651)

I hope either of these are true, becaue the pistons that I want to use are only available with an 18mm pin. (not a waste IMHO)

Thanks for the help

PS> I have a service manual for ther SRX but it's a bit frustrating as it doesnt list a diameter spec for the big end, just the rod side clearance (0.25-0.75mm) and rod axial play (max 2.0mm) and says if exceed "replace worn parts" lol
