I have a lead on some Ohlins that are supposedly 15 1/2 ctc. Are these real, how much travel, and how much should I expect to drop on som nice ones?

they are real, i had a set. never measured to see if there was anymore travel. but they were 15" eye to eye. they worked awsome on my srx i had viper ohlins in the rear. that along with precision skis was best sled i ever had.

make sure what they are since there are some 4 stroke ones that are 15.5" and they are a little wider at the bushing in the eye that mounts on the sled. u could probably make em work fairly easy.

If there have clickers, they are the race version.
My 98 SRX and 04 ViperS both had Ohlins with clickers, but they were compresion dampaning only.
I would guess the Race version would have both Compression and Rebound clickers.

someone will want them real bad for that price. if it were me i would go 400 or so, maybee little more, depends on how bad ya want em. they are kinda rare to find so if you really want em this might be your chance. you have to take into consideration ive seen regular length srx ones go for 350 or more if they are nice/ fresh rebuild or something. so something like these might be worth the extra 100 or more

Hmmmm... well he offered them for 450. I might do it but I don't want to downgrade my stock viper shocks by losing TOO much travel. I'm just not having any luck finding info on them. Would the race ones essentially better? I'm so on the fence...

Could try it, would want to measure but im guessing that travel is about the same, just different ride height. And that may not be that far off being the stock viper has so much sag with them progressive springs, but on the same note the longer viper ones would have a little more dropout to them for dropping into holes.

If u did get them and decide u didn't want em u could probably get back the money from someone long traveling an srx or something, I can vouch they work well for that.

I suppose putting the extensions on could compensate a touch of that dropout. A viper is 9 in of travel IIRC, the SRX was 6ish right? I know it has the SX brackets on them already so Im going to weigh it out for a bit. Ive got a couple emails in to Pioneer and Carver to see if there are any leftovers from the sales....
