Quadrupled??????????????????????? I don't think so Tim.

Guys that want to bash the cost of new sled should stop and think about how they're comments will be perceived by others who possess and know how to use a brain.

Factor in inflation and the differences in what you are getting in todays product vs old and most of these complaints are unfounded.

As to where a person lives in regards to price is irrelivant. The price on anything will vary in those cases.

Sick of whiners wanting to stomp a thread that has a positive beginning.

for that price you could get the vector and turbo it. lighter, still have eps, and way more power... just something to think about...

maybe not quad... but still. is a new sled really worth that kind of cash? you can get many full sized cars for the price of higher priced sled these days

And you can get 20,000 burgers off the dollor menu at Mcdonalds for $20,000 too.

So what.

Compare apples to apples and your thoughts will start to make sense.

Well Spoken!!

Sled prices seem to go up around 400 bucks per year, a 2002 SRX had a MSRP @8200.00 Now 10 years later (2012) you can go online to Port Yamaha and find a 2012 APEX for 12K or 400$ x 10 years=4k+ 8200=12200$ EVERYTHING ELSE GOES UP (except sometimes your wages)

well no doubt that Apex SE would be a cool sled to own..I would love one for sure..but an 02 SRX was around $8000 and I was making about $26 an hour at that time and a new Apex here is around $18000..I would have to be making about $52-60 an hour today to keep up with the price..not possible unless I become a Lawyer or Doctor...lol.. What devinzz1 was probably referring to is that sled prices have really gone up to a point where it is not affordable to most people, especially to the new and up coming sledders.I know of a kid who just bought a brand new 2012 Sled and is making payments on it..that really hurts. The sled will cost him double by the time he is finished paying for it and the sled will be old and shot by then(it wasn't a Yami)..but still...and he is making payments on his truck also..he is broke really but wanted a new sled..
Yamaha makes great sleds and the prices if they could go down some..could sell a few more of them.Otherwise it will be the guys with extra spending $$$ or with rich wifes that will buy them..lol

my 2 favorite comments under the article

Yamaha is a great snowmobile but it still not a good deep powder machine :/

Reply
Yeah right Ill Prove you wrong, It doesn't get deeper than where I'm at, and it dosent get more reliable than Yamaha. The Apex is a Man's sled, and if your not strong enough to throw it around and handle the powerband in deep powder, Its gonna own you.
Watch Thunderstruck, look into Chris Brown, then delete that last comment.

Yes this knocking the 4 stroke thing gets old pretty qwick. There is always something out of reach for everyone..........just be happy yami made sleds that last over 10 years and a forum to talk about them. And be happy there is over 18000 members on 4 strokes that are also members talking about what the sleds need to make them even more out of reach.lol
