Does anyone know how to make a viper oil pump use more oil. I have the cable set as rich as it will go and it uses about 13 oz. in 130 miles..(10 gallons of Gas) My SXR uses about 2.5 times this amount. I have been adding oil to the tank so I will not puke another center rod bearing. Thanks

what is your oil cable measurement? that is a small amount on average. make sure u dont have a leak in the lines. u have 2 lines from pump that feed into tee then 2 the check valve then 2 the pump. i would remove airbox run a fuel line from pump into container of premix. disconnect oil line from pump. u will need to plug this port. run engine at idle. watch how much oil flow increases when u pull on oil pump cable which will move arm on pump all the way open. u should see a marked increase in flow. u should get a drop every few seconds. note: with oil cable released there will be very little oil flow, hardly noticeable actually. if no marked increase occurs remove check valve. run with cable released then pull on it again, and look for noticeable increase.note: overall flow may be more without check valve not sure on that. a marked increase is what u should see. if there is one without check valve(remember this is relative) but not one with check valve in place i would replace it for a peace of mind.

oh the reason i said 2 check for leak is so that at least what u are using is going into engine.

-Thanks. I do not have a cable measuement the casing is set as long as it will go so the oil pump cable is as tight as it can go at wot. No leaks. I dont recall seeing the check valve last itme I had the engine out but I will Look

Are you setting it correctly. When you pull the cable apart where the barrel is in the line, you would want to shorten the length of the gap, that way when you put the adjustment area back together, the oil pump cam/arm does not fall back as far and is actually staying up instead of shutting off more oil flow. If you have the adjustment set longer, it allows the oil pump cam/arm to fall further and close off/reduce the oil flow at lower rpms.
