I am in the UP with one day left of my trip. The last 10 miles today I had intermittent WOT rpm issues. (rode 375 miles without issue) At times I'll pull 8800 rpm, at others it will max at 7800. I just replaced a PV cable before the trip and cleaned and adjusted all 3 pv's. Any suggestions? Should I check for a pull thru? Or anything else? All spark plugs looked ok.

Yup check pv but if it was a pull through you would think it would be all the time. Also how's your belt and clutches look? Are you pulling 8800 stock? If so your over reving, should be down around 8400.

I cleaned both clutches and replaced primary spring. Running all stock setup. Belt looks good too.

Maybe stator issue? Read a few post where it was causing intermitten rpm problems, but thats a hard DX/ fix way up in the UP.

I would think if it was a high speed stator coil, you wouldn't hit 6000. I would be looking at PVs, then clutches for something binding.
