I have an SX chassis with an 1.25" track in it. If I stud it, will I have to go to an eight tooth driver?
If have to go to the eight tooth driver and can get back to the same final drive ratio by changing out the drive/driven gears, do I have to change the clutching as well, I am assuming so. Right now I have Turk's aggressive primary and secondary setup for a '99 SX 600. How would I have to change the clutches?

with that track, the best I could come up with was to use, roetin 1.18 carbides with stock drivers. you will need to cut the track for clearance for guards. If you want to make it even better, buy the aluminum extruded tunnel guards like polaris uses. rivet them in from front to back, it will help hold your tank from bowing down the tunel. much better than the plastic ones that just flex. you will want to cut the notches 1/2in deep.

This will give about 1/4 studs sticking down. a great trail setup for some good handling. If you want more. chave 1/8 off the lugs. I would not ever use 8tooth drivers. I know the math doesn't seem to work out but stud companies have never been quite on the up and up with stud lengths. I have also used woodys 1.175 carbides in 1 1/4 tracks with good results.

Betheviper, you have me a bit confused. I have a 1.25" lug track but you suggest 1.18" or 1.175" studs. The stud length is not as long as the track lug so I am not sure how that translated to a 1/4" of penetration?

believe me, it does. I have done this over and over. stud length are not correct and vary between brands. also, the track thickness comes into play.
