Here's the scoop, I'm stumped. I have the cable set at 19-19.5mm, the plugs are a nice brownish tan color but oil/ratio is about 160/1? I burnt 25 litres of fuel to a 160mm of oil(IPONE). I have 2" risers if that makes any difference and they're don't interfere with the oil cable, throttle cable or choke cable which are all adjusted properly. At 50/1 I should of used 500ml of oil not 160 but plugs look fine, any ideas on this? Do I adjust the oil cable out of the spec range to get it to 50/1?

I'm taking the carbs off and going to check the cable at the oil pump up close to make sure all is good, I want more oil usage than that, just doesn't seem to be enough!

Mine take very little oil also never had a problem almost 10000k on now
Well everything checked out for proper adjustment 19mm, oil pump is ok, removed the risers, guess I'll just go with it the way it is if she cooks she cooks thx for the help!

19mm is a rich setting. I would set my viper to 23-24 mm so it would not use as much. I think the book calls for 22mm. Seems odd. Do you ever drive above 50mph. it sounds like you either drive mostly in lower rpms or your oil pump isn't going to open.
also, did you adjust this after having the correct throttle cable adjustment? If have your throttle too tight, it will throw off your setting, though I don't think you could throw it off that lean.

Mine is the same way. We rode from camp just outside of Millinocket to Ft. Kent and back to camp the next day, about 430 miles round trip. When we got to Ft. Kent I could only fit about 1/2 quart in, got back to camp and could barely fit the rest of the quart in. So 1 quart for 430 miles! My cable is set at 20mm. I brought 2 quarts with me, next time I won't bother bringing any....

Well had it out today by myself and it used more oil, have it set at about 19mm. Groomed trail driving usually 50-60 with wot occasionally on good stretches. Guess the variable rate pump is up to 100% better on oil than previous pumps especially in that 40-60mph range, sled works excellent, plugs are perfect color and it gets great mpg 12-16. You're right about lower rpms I'm not on the trigger hard all the time just once in awhile.
