goin 95mph then temp light comes on

Hey guys,

I'm a noob so bear with me... i had the sled pinned on the lake and i hit 95mph and then the temp light came on and off and it just gave out on me, like it had nothin left... what could this be? did she just get too hot? or is there a problem i'm not seeing... im stumped. haha
 

Couple questions. When you say came on and went off, was there a sequence of 3,4,5,6,7 etc or just once? And when you say gave out on you...Do you mean sled died and wont start or just wouldnt go any faster?
 
little to vague to help, you need to supply some real details to get any information that will help diagnose whats going on.
 
it just came on for like 2 seconds and then went out. during those 2 seconds, the sled would'nt go any faster. so i backed off of it after that. did'nt know what was up.

sorry about not bein specific.
 
before this run, i had a problem with my thermostat. I had to replace it so I dont know if its related or not..

I have read on here about some of the vipers being a PITA bleeding air out of cooling system. Is it full on coolant? air bled out? Speculating here but its possible low coolant/air bubble triggered weird reading on temp sensor which triggered hicup with electronics. Just a theory........
 
a simple test is run the sled,all warmed up and see if running boards get hot.If there is air in the system,the running board coolers may not get hot all around .
 
thanks guys. I talked to a shop up north where i take my sleds and he said the same thing. I will deff try that and i'll repost with the results.
