hey a buddy of mine is going to look at one of these and was just wondering if there was any problems with this particular year or with the 600's. thanks

Unless its a super deal, Tell him to pass on the 600 twin and look for a 700 triple or a newer 600 triple. Those twins aren't very good engines. Crank seal problems and piston locator pins that fall out. Not to mention bad gas mileage and not the best power. My .02

That is a great deal for any sled. Those motors ran great. Have 2 with over 8,000 miles on them. Check the compression would be my only tip. If it looks clean, go for it!

$600 is a good deal. Hard to pass it up for that. Knowing what I know though, I'd pick it up but continue looking for a good deal on a 700 triple. The triples are such a better engine. I bought two triples under 1k this year.

X2 on picking it up to get on something to ride. The vmax twins are heavy as hell and the xt's ride a little better than the brick like ride of the regular vmax. This is the first season I havent had a vmax twin laying around to beat on till good snow came.
