Seeing our riding style is changing to more trail and off trail riding (use to ride mostly river) i would really like to take the vipers out to 136". If i do this i would just go with a 136 mono. I thought ive read that guys were able to use 03viperguy's template. Looking for anyone that has done this skid mod using the template. I thought that i read that the mounting points are the same. I did talk with 03viperguy but he also has no personal experience with it either. Any help would be great. Or even a link to the posts about doing this. Cant seem to find them. Thanks chris

Yes the mounting points are the same, I used the template to install it as well.

Don't quote me on this but... I have a 121" mono in my 2002 SRX, and like you, I am interested in going to a 136" length. In a thread from the 4-stroke side, I'm sure I read that you can either (1) purchase extensions or (2) purchase the 136" rails for a mono as everything will line up and bolt together --- the mounting position of the skid is the same. Hope this helps!

Yes. The mounting points for the 121 and 136 are the same. the 136 has a larger rear mount brackct to which the rear upper wheels attach too. My first choice would be a true 136 skid over a 121 with exts. The rear upper wheels are set back from the rear mount and keep the track from slapping the rear of the shock which seems to be a problem with the 121's when running studs.

I took out the extra rear shaft on the 136 and modified the rear arm pivot (cut the ends down slightly) to accept the stock proaction shaft. I then put on the normal proaction wheels and spacers and it worked perfect.

If you want a little more correct track tension, I would use the rear idler shaft. The rear mounting hole would be the same, the front needs you to reinforce the tunnel. I wouldn't bother with the factory inner braces, they dont fit very good. Just make some from a piece of stainless if you can get some or reg steel. Shim everything level before riveting so you dont pucker your tunnel. the rear idler shaft should have an extra plate for reinforcement. The width of the shaft is narrower than your tunnel so keep that in mind. the upper shaft from your pro action will go right in the rear upper sissor so you will have the same width on that one.

I have a 136 mono if you guys are looking. $500 complete, and in great shape, from an 07 apex with 3500 miles or so, I also am putting a mono in my 98, was going to go 136, but changed my my mind, and am sticking with the 121.
