put on another 100 miles today with the SRX and 600.A little cooler and snow packed..but rough.SRX only could do around 103 on speed at 8500-8600 rpm stock set up.But she sure pull to 100 quick like..I luv it.
I installed all new bushings on both clutches.Went with 4.5 both holes and now she goes to about 8100 wot and hits 100 no problem.Amazing that before bushings change I was using 4.5 each hole and 8500 wot.Power valves clean and adjust..and the best part..SRX started in 1 pull today..wow!!!
So I drilled out the 4.5 inner to a 3.6..Just getting around 103 m ph at 8600.I am still going to try maybe 4 g inner and that is it the best I'll ever get from the sled.If I was on pure ice like years back..then speeds would pick up.I really think my Kimpex track ! incher is really aggressive and with the 144 studs slowing me down some. Think I am going to drop one tooth upper next season and see what gives.Got the transfer a little more and luv the ski lifts on take off.lol..A couple more days of riding and then it gets a little warmer and slushy, hard on the SRX..but my 600 will still be going until I can water skip the water in the ditch's....;)!

Dont be scared to centre drill the rivots with a small drillbit to remove alittle weight.I think the kimpex track would slow you down more than the 144 studs would.

My SRX is faster than yours, NANANANAN NA, j/k ;)

Hit 118 a few years back..beat yours..need to find a lighter sled,SRX not really that fast after 2 inches of snow..bet you if I find a 78 SRX440..it will take the 02..

Actually, if you convert that speed shown on the avatar pic, you will see that it is 119 and I am running a 1,25 track, not a 1.

I THINK I found my problem,,I ran that speed with the parking brakes on..:o| now it is still on..took it for a ride and now going 1/4 more on the dial then the 120 mark..

what a stupid day today,it is nice and cool out.It snowed a little this morning.I went out and picked up $250 worth of gas. Then the friggin winds picked up and it is a whiteout..so didn't getting any riding done.Tomorrow again winds will be kicking up even more....:o|:o|..not enjoyable riding in wind and blowing snow..but the River may be nice and calm due to the trees cutting down the winds..but still not ideal.Saturday already going to plus 6 C and warmer up to 11 next week..it's done..#$%&*

Allright, I have noticed you have some problems, now I haven't read all your posts so excuse me if yo have done much of this already.
this is what you need to get done:

Swap to a clutch with KNOWN good bushings.
Put you stock skis back on, and get the correct toe out as per manual.
Try a clutch set up that you KNOW works, read what others have done.
Is your gearing 22/38? Should hit 110+ pretty easily.
Is that the sled that the mices ate the wires of? Check wiring harness.
Are you running a new track or what? A ripsaw 1 or 1,25 works well for top speeds.
Have you checked for sagged springs in primary and secondary? Try new springs.
I suppose you have a green spring in the secondary, not a red? IMO it's too weak when you hit some snow, will gear the secondary right out and "bog" you down.

Are your cam buttons worn?
Does everything roll as easily as it should?
Have you checked compression?
Are the powervalves adjusted or pulled through? This is what I would check first.
Is your powervalve servo working?
Have you tried new spark plugs?
Have you checked the spark plug boots? They are often very dirty.
Is your track too tight?
Yes, 144 studs will slow you down. Try taking the studs off or try another track with no studs.

105-110 is what I expect to see on a snow covered trail. 119 is only acheiveable for me on relatively crusty hard trail track. Sure, on ice it would run past 120.

I don't know man, everyone else gets their srx to run like a raped monkey, even I, I did struggle with it some years, but now it does what it is supposed to do. Maybe you should sell that sled and get another srx?

my SRX is totally updated and gone thru,rebuilt..changed and added to.Everything has been inspected and is like new..new TPS,new plugs, new plug caps, new belt, new clutch bushings,c to c and offset correct,1 inch track new,144 suds, new pipes, new exhaust gaskets, all new bearings thruout this past fall..all new bushings in skid, over sized wheels, new hyfax,PV's all great shape, new cables and adjusted proper, compression in around the 125 mark, carbs clean, motor now starts in 1 or 2 pulls, servo is working,I switched CDI's even, gearing should be stock..I never changed them.DCS does not come on,run #1 fuel, fitch catylst, etc, etc, etc,Track is adjust at about 1 3/16 sag with 22 lbs pull on it.Have to keep it this way because of the studs.Don't want them hitting exchanger.
I do believe the 02's were known to be a beast to deal with with a lot of little issues..Won't buy another SRX for sure..to old and heavy.Probably would look into another brand if I was going to buy new..

Think I will switch the track to my 600 as it will be needing a new one soon..then put a 2 " paddle track on the SRX,long travel it,gear it down and bust drifts all day long..

The only big issue for me was the DCS. Maybe you should try that in different conditions. How long of a run does it take to get to 103?

I just loosened my track 1 turn on the adjusters.Seems to spin a little easier.I hook a 22.5 lb weight to the track and measures off the hyfax bottom to inside if track surface and now have 1 3/8 " sag.Was at 1 3/16" sag before and now track seems to spin easier and faster.BUT could I loosen it even more with the 1.075 studs .Looks like a lot of room to the exchanger.Maybe will just try just the one turn first and see what gives..

doesn't matter if it is smooth or rough..speed is approx the same overall.I use to just pull 110 on speed no problem when I first got the sled, and the suspension at that time was shot..cracked w-arm..bushings all gone..

I hate the ripsaw's..they just fall to pieces. The 1,25 ripsaw on my 600 is pathertic..lugs broken everywhere..tips of lugs are to weak and thin..won't buy one of those again.
Goona do what daman suggested years agao..he goes around 1.5 deflection on the track..and see what happens

I loosen my studed track until it ratches and then tighten it one full turn. No problem with the studs hitting the cooler. With the motor off and the back end on a stand, you should be able to turn the track with one hand.

Do you want to just trade sleds Doug? All that works already done for you! Lol!

if anything I'd long track your sxr and put the paddle track on it and use it for bustin drifts. Took me a lot of work to get the srx set up so I could throw it around in the deep stuff. Its not that easy to set up a sled that was made to corner like it was on rails to tip over in the powder!

yes I agree,I would really luv to long track the 600 and add paddle track..but also would like to convert it to a 700.My stepson has 2 spare 700 cylinders, all I would need is another,heads,piston,rings,rails,track,CDI..OMG.think it would be easier to just buy another sled already like that...
