Any-one have any pics or suggestions on painting the belly-pan on my 99 srx it's showing some scratches in the plastic. Wondering if you can sand them or paint it.( if the paint would even hold up?)

painting looks bad after it gets a bit scratched up ( it is a belly pan)

I used Krylon paint for plastics on my SXR 600 years back and held good.Have to clean well first. It is now showing some signs of redoing, but held pretty good.I did mine because I couldn't get rid of the black exhaust residure from the exhaust off.

SEM vinyl dye works well too.

Have you tried a heat gun? If you can get the plastic hot enough scratches and brusing (the whitening of the plastic when hit or bent) will nearly disappear. I've also used a heat gun and a chunk of ice to straighten/reshape bent pieces. Don't get it too hot (to the point of melting/dripping). Try an area out of eye site to get the hang of it and wear some leather gloves if you need to massage the plastic back into shape.
