A person was killed last season by someone riding a snowmobile on the outskirts of the City.A guy was out for a walk and a snowmobile came around a corner right into him.The City is surrounded by a perimeter Hwy all around it.Now there are houses where there back yards are facing the Perimeter. After you back property line there would be a large ditch and then the Hwy.They don't want anyone riding in this area anymore, mostly on Public Land..They want to make areas where people can trailer your sled so you can hit the ditch, run along the Hwy and make yourself connect up to a trail system. If my home was in a place like that,it would have a fence that would be open in the back to sled out and I would just hit the ditch and go..but if you are found to be within the Perimeter Hwy,,you are within City Limits..a fine could be levid.I live 7 km's outside the Perimeter,so it has nothing to do with me..I can go anywhere off my yard..

Sure when it snows good out we all use snowmobiles on the main road and the local police dont mind??? Thats all the result of some person walking in a trail? I could slip on a bouncy castle and choke to death on the iglets on my shoe lace. Better start banning those to!

Maybe that why they dont let us wear are shoes in the bouncy castles down here anymore! They probably have the best of intentions and as always with politicians.....Wiling to stomp the life out of one group to protect another......Depending on which group has more registerd voters! But come 2015 are they gonna be winning about lost revenue......Probably!

I'm surprised they didn't have a ban in city limits already. Here in Saskatoon they do and when I lived in Edmonton in the 90's they had it there. Know a guy who got caught there and had to pay a 2500.00 fine!

well as usual there are guys who ride down their strret or back lane just to warm up the sled or for just a few minutes of joy..but that will be banned as the same for them small quads..glad I don't live in the City..
Also some kid may start up a sled just to go around the block, probably no insurance on the old sled and if they hit another car or person..who covers the damage now...liability issue's the City is worried about.Still I wander how that kid who hit and killed that guy who was out for a morning walk is doing these days..imagine his head and re living it every day..
