keep in mind this is my opinion. I have owned 6 different vmax 600 twins. They are rather reliable. Suspension kind of SUCKS! the 96 was the first year for th XT (xtra travel) which is ALOT better. I sold the last one (95 vmax le) mid winter last year for $600. Theres a ton of them on the craigslist asking 750-1500. the only ones seeming to move are priced 5-600. Whats her truck worth?

its a 2000 s10 that needs a clutch, new coil pack, o2 sensor, power steering is out, rusted, dented, just taking up space. kbb lists it at 2700 in fair condition. guy says sled is mint and low miles. ill find out more today about it.

We got the sled, and i'm buying it from the girlfriend for 500 . Its the cleanest sled I've seen. It looks like its barley been used. Is a 95 vmax 600 le.

Search "drop brackets" will get the bumper off the ground, will still have the "brickish" ride quality but will be higher. Or watch for an XT skid for cheap, direct bolt in and is a huge improvement. I always did like the way you can have the side panels off in about a minute each. Makes wreching way easy!

They hard on clutches. Inspect the weights and rollers. Triples were better off

yeah the last one I had the rollers had froze up and were on their way to be sawed threw had some nice flat spots to say the least. Peel the primary off and cleaned it up. Reused the rollers as it was a bomb around the yard designated "loaner" sled. Seemed to work much better with the flat spotted rollers rolling again.

There was a batch of pistons that Yamaha had problems with the ring pins coming out and catching the exhaust port opening causing the cylinder to go down. I don't remeber any date or lot #'s for you but I can tell you the one I had did have this problem in both cylinders. Other than that, it was a great sled.
