Has anyone tried the price performance 1000 kit for the Srx or viper? Any thoughts on it?

from what I recall, I think there kits were bare castings that still needed to be ported and nickasiled. but thats just what I think I recall. could be wrong

Seems to me I remember reading a post on another site some time ago from Jeff Simon (CPR) where he talked about one of those kits making around 225 to 230 horsepower. Good but not great for 1000cc's. They may have improved since then. Just bring $$$.

limited max h.p.. best i've heard is 250 h.p. range. ski doo 1000 triples are 300+.

Wow, the performance world has certainly come a long way when you can say "only" 250 horsepower! I believe much of the reason for the lower numbers comes from the smaller crankcase volume of the 700cc motor compared to the bigger (starting out) 800 and 900 engines that the srx is being compared to. Not to mention continued development on those other engines.

I was thinking the same thing...WOW!...."Only 250hp"!
I too think the cases have a lot to do with this...if you notice on most big number SRXs they take tthe webbing out below the piston and above the crank like a more conventional crank case. The Ski Doo Mach Z tripple cases have much larger boxes for their larger reed cages....now if a person were to cut those off of a ski doo case and graft them on to a 1000cc srx's cases......Hmm
