And why?
My Summer project will be upgrading the suspension and possibly skis. Currently have a trail ported 99 SRX, Boss Hi Rise and bar extension. The seat/extension changed this sled so much & made for much better long days on the trails. Now the proaction needs to go. Can anyone share their opinions on the following to help me choose? I do not care about any loss of speed.
--FAST M10 S/S
--M10 Air
--M20 Air...not sure what this is
--Ad Boivin Expert X
--Ad Boivin ZX2
--Big 4 models
As for the front end, are the Ohlins with the reservoir the way to go...plus the bracket extensions (or flipping the stock ones)? I've seen some swap out the front arms for another model....what do you gain?
Now for trail skis...what's a decent upgrade for trail & the occasional loop into trail side bowls?

as far as oem skids go, I've had really good luck with skidoo sc10III's. night and day difference in ride quality, weight, and transfer. Also didn't lose any top speed.

I put a set of white USI X2 triplethreat skis on my srx this year and loved them. They corner on a dime with no push and also no darting going down the straights. They are definitely harder to steer at the bars but its not bad at all. They're quite a bit wider than the stock skis so its definitely an improvement for off trail as well. They're fairly cheap too, there's a new pair with carbides and mounts for $330 on ebay. I would highly recommend them, oh and they look sweet.

I have like 7-8000 miles on a 136" m-10 with the standard fox shocks. You'll be amazed at how much harder and longer you'll be able to ride especially with your seat n riser setup. The top speed loss is like 3-5 mph so not a big deal imho. They don't hook off the line the greatest, but make up for it overall especially with being able to accelerate through rough trails maintaining full travel. I find myself wanting slightly rough trails especially in the corners as it handles better this way than on perfectly smooth trails lol! I have no experience with the air, but have considered upgrading my rear shock to the air setup as its supposed to be a nice upgrade! I also switched to simmons gen 1 skis with the m-10 which is awesome off and on trail and the added stance really helps stability with the slightly taller stance.

I have a 2004 pro x rear skid in my viper, it gets p*** pounded every ride and shows no signs of letting me down. i have clicker ryde fx shocks, love them. I'm not sure what type of riding you are doing but for ditches i'd stick with this of the skidoo rear skids. i stuck with a polaris skid for durability, easily adjustable and plenty of parts around for dirt cheap (not that i had to buy any).
I have a set of c&a pro ski razors on my sled. they make the steering a tad heavy but you get used to it within the first ten miles. my sled corners like it's on rail. i love it more and more every season.

new suspension
EZ-RYDE hands down the best suspension out there
30-40 pounds lighter, soaks up the bumps, handles big jumps, better shocks
I put one in my 162 viper and cant believe it. M-10 not even close.

Expert X gets my vote, built like a tank, ride is awesome the harder you go the better it works. Weight transfer is insane when you adjust it. Adjustable ride height I believe a few inches up and down. Track tension and burning up hyfax is a thing of the past.
I'm going to leave everything stock, but will be going through everything such as bearings and all new sliders, motor refresh. I'm going to try and make this a rocket for the upcoming race season, as this past season the sled was not on the podium at all

put the bolt in the rear hole, it will make them steer easy.srxman72 said:I put a set of white USI X2 triplethreat skis on my srx this year and loved them.
