I recently picked up a '78 SRX and would like to hear from anyone who may know what a round about figure is for a restoration on a sled like this. It's complete, matching numbers, engine currently doesn't run. All the parts are there (except the key and tether), belly pan is nice, hood, bumpers, seat foam (needs new vinyl), tunnel, etc. Engine is complete but most parts under the hood will need a good cleaning. Skis are original but rusty. All gauges are accounted for as well as the tank shroud which still as the original placards. Suspension will need sandblasted and powdercoated, and the original slides are still on the rails; and they look great. Sled shows approx. 1200 miles. The previous owner bought the sled new and indicated the last ride took place because the sled died. Upon further investigationn from a dealer or there abouts, it was determined the engine needed a lower seal. I don't know if this is accurate or not as the sled has been sitting for years untouched.
Any opinions are welcome.

I DOUBT IT DIED BECAUSE OF A LOWER SEAL, BUT I WOULD BET IT NEEDS ONE NOW. IF THATS TRUE MILEAGE, NO WAY. TAKE IT ALL APART MAN AND START CLEANING HER UP. DOSE NOT SOUND LIKE THIS SLED NEEDS MUCH. 3:16 (yammie tony)
