The wife's sled burned down on the last weekend of the season, and lunched a cylinder beyond repair. Wondering if it is a simple bolt on deal to install a 600 top end, cylinders, pistons? do i need to swap the head also? jet changes? pipe? anybody do this before? Thanks

yes bolt on deal
replace the top end with a 600 set of pistons and jugs
same carbs and exhaust might have to rejet but all specs are in the tech section
i did it a few yrs ago on a pre sx chassie sled and all worked very well

Thanks, Is there a difference between the 94-96 600 to the 97+ ? I hear guys talking of the "updated 600" Have a line on a complete 94-96 engine and would like to know before i buy it. Thanks for the help guys.

The 96xt and the 97 ups had different cylinders. They will all swap between the cases, but the newer ones had the 4 bolt reed cages (the older ones are 6 bolt), and the triple exhaust ports. That's the main differences in them. Might be some other little things I'm not thinking of. Haven't messed with the twins in a long time.
