Okay I'm not sure if this is the right place to put a post like this so sorry if its not.. but heres the scoop
So at the moment i have a 2000 SXr 700. i just blew the track and w arm so im in the process of putting it back together :/ but an SRX 700 came up on craigslist and he wants to trade for a 2 place enclosed trailer. its an ohlins edition and it has an m-10 skid. 5100 miles. he says 130psi in each cylinder. Is an SRX with an m10 a nice machine for the trails because thats mainly what i do. and would there be a noticable power difference between an SXr and SRX? and how bullet proof are the SRX motors vs the SXR's? Thanks alot for any posts they're much apreciated

if your sxr engine/pipe is stock you'll have a very noticable power increase with the srx. the srx engine is very dependable with proper maintenance. keep your carbs, powervalves, and clutches clean and up to snuff and you shouldnt have problems.
srx with the m10 and ohlins will make a very nice trail machine

I own both. I ride 98 srx 600, 99 srx 700, 00 srx 700 and the girl freind rides a 00 sxr 700. As staggs saidin stock form SRX has a noticeable differance (40ish horse) The only advantage the sxr has is the suspension. An srx with M-10and ohlins wil havemore geddy up and have better suspension than sxr. Powervalve cleaning/adjustment shares some guys away but isnt that bad, once you have done it a few times its pretty simple. The M-10 will get you away from the w arm issue you had on Chances are when yours broke it wiped out the track.

Yup. the w arm tore the track clean off.... hahaha it didnt piss me off to much though cause i needed a new track haahaha. but thanks alot both of you for the input. i'll have to see if i can make a deal with the guy. it sounds like it should be a pretty fun sled to ride.... and kick some *** with.... :)
thanks again!
