Hi guys, I recently found my brake rotor to be warped on my '98 SRX. What are my options? Buy a good used rotor or are there aftermarket, lighter weight options?
Thanks!

Be cautious with aftermarket lightweight rotors. I have heard some horror stories....

Keep an eye on the fasteners holding the rotor to the hub! Major damage If it lets go. I have heard of a couple of the wave rotors seperating.

how do you warp a rotor on a snowmobile anyways? Ive never warped a rotor on my dirtbike or anything but on a snowmobile its pretty well protected.

not sure about your trail system but we have lots of short straight aways ..hard on the gas then hard on the brakes for really sharp corners so the brakes get abused !!!!!
all depends on your riding style...

I have a good viper rotor for sale. Lighter than the 98, 99 rotors. Pm me if interested.

HMMM, now you got me wondering Jeff, maybe my Viper already had an aftermarket rotor on it when I got it. Oh well now it has an even lighter SLP setup

98,99,2000 srx all use the heavy rotor. 2001-02 srx and all vipers use the lighter weight rotors.

Just had the rotor off my 02 SRX recently. If that's light I would hate to have the heavy one on there. Thing was only a few ounces lighter than an anvil!

its 160 grams lighter then the old one, the brake hub is smaller on the new one also, so if you get a alum. hub make sure you get the right one,the 98-00 takes the larger diameter pattern and the 2001-02 srx and all vipers use the small one.

yes, the things are still heavy!
