I am looking at a 2011 Apex SE (128 track) with about 3,000 miles on it. It is a dealer sled and the asking price is $9,000. Is this a good price or should I try to negotiate a lower price? I'm hoping to get $2500-$3,000 on trade for my 2005 Rage RS-good condition with 9500 miles. Advise

I would say $9000 is to much since it has 3000 miles on it...your money.I have seen dealer prices on some used sleds here selling a 2002 SXR600 for $4000..what gives.Dealers always asking to much.Go on Kijiji and you will find it cheaper.

2011

It may depend on location too. My wife bought a used 2009 Vector from a rental place in eastern Wisconsin a year ago and there was about $1500-$2000 difference between that place and Minnesota dealers for the same sled. My research on nada and kbb indicates the $9000 is low retail so it appears to be a good price. Nice looking SXR, is that yours?

that's my SRX..thanks..

My brother owned a red srx or sxr 700 triple. I believe it was a 97' or 98'. He ended up selling it to a guy from canada. Nice sled, quick! Not as much weight back then as that was before the 4 stroke days.

YEAH! musta been da vmax!

I think 9,000 is a fair price for a 2011. Whoever bought it new and traded it in took a pretty good hit as the dealer gave less than that on trade. I wouldn't go any lower than 3,000 for your sled that's for sure. Prob sell it outright for more than that, but then the 2011 might be gone by then.

well here in Canada it would be a lot more money.A friend of mine almost bought a brand new Nytro,2011 model for $9000..but since they didn't approve his credit thru them..he bought another 2001 Ski-doo..this time a 800 Summit for $3400...insurance company paid him $3000 for crashing his 2001 MXZ700..but that Summit has had alot of issues brand new and updates so it seems..like pistons and ring replacements and crank issues..it has low miles on it..hope he didn't get screwed again..oh well he will never learn to buy a Yami..but this time he may..lol

2011 Apex

Well. I ended up purchasing the 2011 Apex SE 128 and I think I did ok. I got $3300 for trade-in on my 2005 Rage RS and paid $5650 to boot plus about $440 in taxes/fees. Nice clean sled. It has the fox air shocks in front which I think is an upgrade. No mirrors so i'll have to find some after market. Now I can give my buddy crap about his puny 800 lxr cat.
