Haven't been on here in a while, and don't know the new rumors. But yesterday a friend of mine that works at artic stopped to tell me that the srx 120's are on the line. He also said this spring they revamped the line to bring in some bigger yamaha sleds. Anybody hear of this? Possible they could of traded 4 stroke tech for suspension?

there have been rumors of a merger for a couple years. it would make both brands better, that is of coarse if they used cat motors and yamaha suspensions

as long as they don't use cheap plastic parts..If we want a 2 stroke SRX again, gonna have to be with Cat motors sorry to say.NOW that would be the end of Yamaha's reputation..

i thought they were good motors, at lest it will cat walk. that would be nice!

If your after the cat walk you can tweek clutching, gearing and skid set up on about ANY sled and catwalk all day long. I prefer to put the power to the ground and be gone!

maybe the etec's are good motors..haven't heard much about them..but don't think BRP has figured out yet how to supply enough oil to their crank bearings yet..the past years a lot of their motors were in trouble with crank failures.

with all them recalls..why would you buy a Cat.Local dealerships out here are screwed now,as word of these recalls have spread like wildfire. One dealership alone has 25 left over 2012 Cats to sell..and another has a bunch also. You should see the amount of Cats on sale in Kijiji now..they are in trouble for sure.If Yamaha merges with Cat..we we in BIG friggin Trouble.I am thinking Yamaha wants to get out of the sled business..maybe just make motors. But I don't think I would buy a 4 stroke Cat.Reason why we should all keep our Yami sleds now as things are changing for the worst.Just stock up on parts for the future. If Yamaha don't want to keep their name going,we riders at least can keep our old sleds going. If the trend keeps going, probably only come done to 2 manufacturers in the future as the demand for these expensive sleds are falling big time.Time was coming eventually for this as a lot of new comers just can't afford a $12,000 to $18,000 sled to ride on snow for only a few months of the year.Times have changed, jobs are harder to get..people concentrating on their mortgages and such first.
Remember when we were young..we could afford a new sled easily..not today.

I could afford a new one......Would rather have the 5 SRX's and the odd ball sxr for the girlfreind to ride! My goal is to have one for each day of the week. With trail permits going up to $50 per I think I may be swapping windys around ALOT!

yep..nothin like old iron..the best!!! The 4 strokes just sound awful.I hear the 4 stroke dirt bikes and quads go by..they sound terrible also..nothin like a 2 stroke dirt bike whizzing by..same goes for the sleds..2 stroke sleds sound the best..

I almost jumped to the 4 stroke side myself this spring. Was going to go with a nytro xtx and a vector ltx but didnt pull the trigger. I finally got my vipers the way i want them, just want longer. I couldnt bear to set them aside as backup/guest sled just yet. So now will stretch them to 144" and they will be perfect for for my wife and i and our style of riding for some time to come. The time will come when we will move to 4 strokes but not just yet!
