I have an '02 sxviper 700 with a blown motor and a '99 srx 600 with a wrecked chassis and was thinking about swapping the srx motor into the Viper chassis. I was wondering what kind of modifications would be necessary for this type of motor swap? Any online links or help of any kind would be appreciated!

Not sure of everything involved as I dont own a viper. What I do know is the 99 srx has the weaker stator/single headlight. Unsure if viper stator would bolt on and be good to go or not. If you have to stick with 99 stator your stuck with 99 cdi, harness etc. Theres a few threads about converting single to dual bulb in the srx, may have to do something similar to viper headlight. Maybe look into 00 or up srx stator if not same as viper. Power valves are different. Should be okay if you use evrything from srx as far as valves go. Is viper already tripple piped? Is there room for stocker 99 tripples under the hood?

cutting the "ski well" will be needed, swap all electrics as well and should bolt right in

how bad is the motor? may be worth it to sell the srx engine to someone who might need it and use the money towards fixing or replacing the current viper engine, unless ur looking for a project and interested in swaping electronics, making the exhaust fit and such.

This is the short list not including your labor
2001 srx cdi box
2001 and up red head flywheel
bypass for temp sender
mega power/maximum/peak water rail or have someone who tig welds build one out of two srx water rails.
you will need to put your vipers stator into the srx engine, the flywheel will convert the two to work. or you can use the viper flywheel and move your pickup coil inward to get the correct clearance.
you will need to cut down into the rh belly pan where the lowest pipe sits. It will show from the outside of the sled. I made up a fake pipe cover to fill the hole as I liked the pipe hanging out look. You could paint it black.
Use the viper air box.
Muffer will need to be bent and twisted to get the pipes low enough.
also, srx muffer mounts from the frame need to be changed.

I had seen a post about someone that did an SRX 700 swap with in a Viper Chassis. Only thing they had to do is change out stator, (assuming it's the same thing as the generator under the flywheel). I'm running into the issue where my 02 Viper's stator doesn't match up with the holes of my 98 srx's crank case. Anyone can fill me in with this? I can get two screws to fit in the holes. I would have to drill a hole on the stator to get it all three in. Any intel would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
