lets see your asphalt sleds/grass sleds

just like title says lets see them

here is my 99 600 ,i got sick of not having any snow to ride on and no time to trailer any where so i converted it for the tar. going out next weekend for her first time. Still got some things to do

My 92 trail sled. No snow to ride so I set it up to run a local drag last Jan. Stock 92 750 with twins. Ran 800 stock and 800 imp. Couldn't run trail stock because of the suspension drop and chissels.

Dialed it up a bit and did ok for a first time dragger. Made both finals and took a 3rd and 4th. Did not get beat by another Yamaha. Sent a 700 SRX, two quad piped 4's, Polies, Doo's and a Cat or two to the trailer. Got beat by one 800 Doo and 2 F8 Cats. Not their first rodeo. Much more still left on the table to be had. Went to the pits with 1/2 tank of fuel and a track stand. Opened the hood once for a guy to see what was under there.

Was fun, will probably go again this fall with a bit more tweaking.

i try to have as much white on my sled i can get. the heads look great!!! i have white grills, white and blue powermadd hand guards. i persunally think the sled has to much blue. i wish i could find a white windy, but o well here is a pic. (only set up for trails) :P

CAN,T POST PICTURES BUT I BEEN TAR RACING WITH MY NEIGHBOR. FIRST SLED IS A 98 700 SX. HE DRIVES THAT AND HAS GONE 10.21 @ 123. second sled is my ride. a 97 600 sx which has a 01 sxR 700 motor with single pipe. 11.59 @ 108 been my best. I WON THIS PAST WEDNESDAY WITH IT. HAVE TO LOVE BRACKET RACING. 3:16 (yammie tony)

so i ran the sled at the track tonight, best pass was 103mph 12.12sec and all i did was remove the air box lids and changed the secondary spring to a pink with a 47 helix wrapped at 4-4. it going to rain tomorrow, so no Test and Tune :( but theres allways next weekend. now its time to start to jet it and see what she can do. bender can comes in tomorrow :)
 
600srxman.If you are running the stock jetting remove the airbox all together.A pink secondary spring is going to scrub off mph huge and be slower et past 660.Its to much spring pressure.
Put the stock spring back in and remove the airbox and i bet you pick up 10mph and drop your ets alot.
 
the air box has nothing in it or on top its wide open and i still have to play around with it . i will try the stock spring again thought. thanks pro116
 
OPINIONS ARE LIKE ---. EVERYONE S GOT ONE. ANYWAYS HERE GOES.
1. BENDER CAN JUNK. - STOCK BOX.
2. WHATS 4-4 ON SECONDARY TWIST. (80 twist is 2-6 on yammie secondary)
3. RUN YOUR AIR BOX. PUT LID BACK ON BUT PULL SHELF. YAMMIE,S LOVE SOME RESTRICTION.
4. IF THATS THE PINK SPRING USED IN THE APPEX, BINDS VERY FAST WHEN YA WIND IT. USE THE GREEN.
5. 47 DEGREE HELIX, WAY OFF, WHY YA USEING A STOCK HELIX.

just picked up 8BU-00 and a bender yellow spring . for the secondary. i have a heelckicker white primary spring in it right now. i have 23/38 for my gearing witch stock 99 srx 600 . what do you think i should run for a helix 53/45 ?
 
THAT HEEL CLICKER WHITE SPRING WORKS GREAT. JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TALL COVER ON YOUR CLUTCH OR IT WILL SPRING BIND BAD. I LOVE 8BU-00 WEIGHTS, YOUR GONNA HAVE TO RUN AROUND 8400. I WOULD START AROUND 50 GRAMS ON A 600 SRX, BUT DON,T RUN 46 FINISH HELIX. TO MUCH LOAD. LIKE TO SEE YA AROUND A 50/40 50/42 (etc). 23/38 IS CORRECT GEARING. BY THE LOOKS OF YOUR TIMES WHICH IS WAY WAY OFF, YOUR CLUTCHING IS A MESS. YOU NEED AT LEAST A 5000 ENGAGEMENT, YOU SHOULD BE AT THAT EASY. LIKE I POSTED, I HAVE GONE 11.59 @ 108 WITH A 97 700 SX WITH SINGLE PIPE. THIS SAME SLED WENT 11.28 @ 112 WITH 150 POUND DRIVER. I AM 230. GET THE YAMAHA GREEN SPRING FOR SECONDARY @ 70 TWIST. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
ok im going to bender next tuesday to get a helix and a moveble sheave ( found a crack in it) im going to try this yellow sec spring. and yes i have the tall cover. i thank you for your help yammiegod , i still need to jet . but i think i can get it in the 10s with what i have . i have it case ported and polished the exhuast port , nothing to much just cleaned up all the casting and stuff.
 
thanks yammiegod, yes i have a long road ahead of my for testing. cant wait to get back to the strip and do some testing. running on tar so much fun.....better the crack lol
