I have a all stock SRX with 2100 miles and 144 picks. What can I do to make it faster?!? I don't want reeds or pipes. I was thinking a clutch kit? Which one do I want? Is there anything else I can do to my sled? I'm new to SRX, I use to ride a 1982 SRV 540 LOL. Need some info. Thanks guys!!!!!!!!

Clutching will be your best bang for the buck. Do a search on here and you will find some good proven set ups that you can piece together.

Take a good look at the wiring harness for rubthrews or about to rub threw. Clean and adjust powervalves. Check all bearings bushings. Clean carbs and check whats inside them (pilots/mains/clip position) Once you have reliability taken care of then start tweeking for speed. Your sled already has tripple pipes that work very well. Adding an aftermarket can may sound cooler but prolly will cost you a mph or two on top, some may help in the bottom but rob you in the top end. Have you rode sled much ? I remeber the first time I pinned the throttle on an srx........Damn thing damn near shot out from under me! Thats when I fell in love with the modern SRX!

put 600 gearing in it and clutch it :) set up your skid and hang on ... good luck and have fun

The 600 srx gears wont work with his chain. They went to hyvo gears.

are the clutch kits from Aaen and bender etc any good? I can't find any reviews on them or anything? Chime in if you know. Thanks!

there are many setups to try. Heelclickers,8Bu-10's,8DN-20's loaded up.I tried them all and am sticking to stock 8DN-20 loaded with white primary spring and 51/43 helix(works best for me) with green spring at 70.Hit 115 on speedo on snow covered River last year.Speed isn,t everything. You can decide to go quick or fast.Quick off the line to 660 to 1000feet or fast as you can in a mile or two.It all is about testing different weights and springs.

links below for suspension stuff to help you out.

115 on snow on the speedo?? with an srx ???? I think you need to do some tuning

x2, u geared or something? i always buried the spedo on mine, think it was like 110 on spedo even after doing drivers and 1.25 track with studs.

maybee u were looking for quicker, not faster. i also used a loaded 8dn20 setup, rumor has it around this site that 8bu10 can take em though.

that is damn good speed on 8 inch's of fresh snow on the River..Hit 118 on ice years back. But don't care about speed anymore.I will gear her down..already did long travel conversion and this will be my ditch banger..hill climber.

Bender made a good kit for the 98 that i had bought off of them the same year for my 700.It has a 51/43 made by them, differant rivots, there drive clutch spring with a shim, and some smaller main jets as far as i remember.

That was 14 years ago and 30.000 klm on the sled.Still run the helix and perfer it over the 48/40 advantage but the spring broke after about 8 years.Run a www now but would perfer the bender spring again.

sorry..I said long traveled it..not long tracked it..put in my spare SXR rear shocks, flipped front shock brackets to gain hieght and installed long traveled transfer rods.Rear sits higher now and has more suspension travel which should be great for jumping.
I wouldn't mind to long travel it,but not worth the money for me to do.
