4 cylinder srx

Hell Yeah!! Lets step it up some..why not just out a small block v-8 in an SRX.I have seen a video where a guy has done that...wicked..and get better front end shocks..lol

4 cylinder

Mark Giamitee from Mega Power performance had a 4 cylinder srx he was building back around year 2000. I don't kow how he ever made out with it. There is a guy on here that goes by The Hammer. He would know alot more about it. I believe the motor was set up like a Vmax 4 with 180 degree firing. I believe there was bulk head modifications also. Good luck in your build.

I have seen a lot of custom 4 cylinder mach z motors even a 3 cylinder firecat on juice but no yamahas. There was a guy on here way back that cut up a yamaha 600 twin motor and buildt a 3cylinder.

Panetti Yamaha built a 4 cyl 197? SRX @1981 or 82, Saw it run on Okauchee Lake. never really ran well.

I think the summer heat has gotten to the entire board. When the group starts to discuss 6 and 8 cylinder Yamaha's I know you are showing signs of heat exhaustion. And four cylinder SRX's just can't be a good idea. Cold showers for everyone. ---mac---

that was "800" (bill gohr). he had pics on here of it as well. don't know where the pics ended up tho.

Whats all involed with building a 4 cylinder out of three? Obviously cutting and welding the cases and making a new crank but what about ignition? Pipes might be another problem. Just imagine a mild 780 making 165 HP would roughly be a 1040 cc and make roughly 220 hp.........
