hey guys
i just finished 2 race weekends on asphalt with my 2001 sxr 700 and im only getting 90mph out of it not bad but i know i can get it faster
done to it is
rebuilt motor
power inc pipes
20/40 gears
135 135 137.5 jets 50 pilot jets and going down on mains
some clutching work but not to sure about the wieghts and springs of the primary cuz i borrowed it off a srx 700 race sled
secondary had a 45 degree helix and tried a steeper angle bud did nothing
i know my pipes are supposed to have peak rpm of 9200 but only gettin 8400 which means losin hp big time how would i get my clutches to shift fast to get to 9200 rpm im an 1/8 mile drag race
im guessing my clutching might be slowing me down just dont have the knowledge to get my rpms up if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate them
thanks daren

there's your first big problem.....what works for a srx isnt going to work for a redhead. you need to work on clutching. take the advice of the clutching gurus as it pops up
If you are getting 90mph in 660' that is not bad...especially since you have an 800RPM under rev!
Go with the above Power inc clutching recommendations and your current jetting and gearing as a starting point.

Do you have center dumps or end dumps?
I use to have some centers.
Here's some rpm info for you.

I AM RUNNING A 97 700 SX ON TAR IN THE 1/4, BUT DO HAVE ALL MY 1/8 TIMES AND SPEEDS. THIS SLED IS STOCK, EVEN SINGLE PIPE, SPEEDS HAVE BEEN ANYWHERE FROM 89 TO 93 DEPENDS ON 60 f.t. , e.t. is 7.1, 7.2. you want to shift your clutches faster, way off with the helix your useing. try a 52/ 42 @ 70 wrap. 3:16 (YAMMIE TONY)
