I am getting my motor back together and have it set back in the sled. Now I want to bleed and check the oil pump before I finsh things up and start it.
I have loosend the bleed screw a couple times after turning it over manually and I have oil coming out with no air bubbles. I still have it disconected where the line goes to the fuel pump. When I turn it over I get no bubles and oil is dripping out of that line. My question is how much oil should be coming out when I turn it over with the pump held wide open?
I don't want all this work and money to go down the tubes because the oil pump wasn't working properly. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Gil

Basically what I'd do is hook all your lines up/etc. Then mix your first tank 50:1 and watch and see how much oil you used out of your injection tank.

That's a good idea. I plan on running some premix initially. But before I buttoned everything up I wanted to see if I could make sure the pump is working while I can still get at it easily.

When I rebuilt my redhead and a 650SX jetski. I put everything together, then just bled the oil pump with the bleed screw. Didn't even make sure oil was coming out of the line. Ran premix 50:1 and fired it up. Been running good since.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm sure I'm being overly cautious, but it is my first rebuild and I want it to go good. I have oil coming out of the line but it's just a few drops everytime I spin it over. I don't know how much volume these pumps push. When I spin it over should it be a dribble or a squirt of oil? I guess that's my question. Thanks Gil
