when I started to take it apart and took the exhaust off here is what I dumped out of the pipe
imagejpeg_3.jpg

this is the top of the piston
imagejpeg_2.jpg

and the rod cut through the case all the way around
imagejpeg_3-1.jpg

the majority of the engine is destroyed all on the pto side

I'm trying to determine what caused this prblem and looking to buy a new engine

if anyone can help please let me know

I think that's the worst one I've seen. I cant help u due to lack of knowledge but there are many on here that will help.

probably due to a batch of bad fuel. Also check what your jetting was at the time, what was the temps that day?? and did you use premium fuel???? I have no issues with my 2000 700 SRX and I am stock jetting 147.5,146.3,146.3 ,run premium fuel always, have Fitch Fuel Catalyst in the tank and I give her wot runs a lot up to 2 miles long with no issue and no DCS light coming on even to tell me I may have an issue.Better start looking for a station that sells better quality fuel to begin with I suggest.

when did you sell your 02 SRX Blue! ;)! :letitsnow

How do the other pistons look?

Did that wrist pin really fall out of the pipe? Sorry but thats just way cool if it did. ;)!

LEAN for a LONG time. For accurate ideas we need pics of center and mag cylinders. If othes look bad I second bad fuel, If they dont look like hell I would say carb on PTO dirty/plugged, broke reed petal wandered threw combustion chamber or sucking ALOT of air into the PTO seal. With the amount of debris in pipe I would have to say you ran your tripple as a twin for a while.

That had to be making some noise for a while to get to that point. I would think detonation to destroy parts like that.

That IS the worst I've EVER SEEN. How did that HUUGE PIECE of metal get all the way through the exhaust? I am IMPRESSED to say the least!

More like a good batch of dynamite if you ask me!

AOT OF DAMAGE HERE FOR FUEL. LOOKS LIKE MECHANICAL FAILURE TO ME. LOOKS LIKE WRIST PIN BEARING BLEW APART AND THAN A LL HELL BROKE LOOSE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

How many miles were on this? I'm debating if I should freshen my Srx and Sx that have 6500 miles. I would be upset if this happened!
