hello my father just got a viper mountain from a guy at work seems to be running just fine but it does not have reverse and since he is 65 he kind of cant lift it to turn it around, that being said i was wondering how hard it is to add reverse to a sled ? is it just a chain case swap and how hard would it be to do ? also would it have to be out of another viper or is there any other yamahas that i could get it from ? i belive it is a 2004 ? not sure it is a 2000 and sumthing lol any help is welcome

Very easy install. Only have to change out bottom gear to reverse gear and reverse chaincase cover. Hook up linkage and done. Just saw a viper reverse on ebay today for a fair price. Worth every penny. Put them on all three of my vipers and loooooooooooooove them. Let me know if you need any help! Chris

Pretty sure reverse kit out of any pro action suspension sled will work. You may have to modifystock exhaust can mounting points/hardware depending on what you have.

Well let the new guy slide this time. But if you have a Viper Mountain......we want to see pictures of this 'King-o-the-Mountain'.viper_kid04 said:hello my father just got a viper mountain

If I wanted to add reverse to my 2002, I would have to cut out the hood for the lever. My 2004 venom has that notch from the factory.

If you decide to add reverse I can makeyou a template from my Viper or my Vmax700, both have reverse. Then you can just mask off the area and lay the template over it and draw where you need to cut. I did that with a new hood on one of my Vipers and just cut it out with a dremel and cutoff wheel. Very easy turned out nice. Let me know and I'll make and mail you the template. GIL
