Was on Accuweather.com today and their canadian forcaster had the winter 2012-13 outlook. Go check it out. Saying normal temps and precip for much of US while above normal temps for alaska and northeast canada. We shall see. What do you guys think will happen. After last winter I give up it is what it is.

well it is not sounding good at all from what I have read.Drought is still the word, same as last year.Winter will be the same or even less precipitation yet. This is a trend that is supposed stick with us for many years to come apparently. We have had the hottest July since back in the early 1930's.We can all prepare for Winter, but if it doesn't snow..sleds won't be riding much.A lot of people are dropping this sport, dealers are feeling it also.I am looking for a cheap dirtbike to ride this winter.Stud the tires and run the River system..that would be cool and cheaper on fuel at least.Just watch the for sale ads soon and you are gonna see a lot of sleds go for sale,my 600 has been for sale for 3 months so far and nothing. One guy wanted to trade his 90's car for the sled..not gonna happen I told him..
I know last winter was the worst I have seen in a while,if this happens again..I am getting out of this sport..and into Dirtbiking more.

This is exactly what I was going to say! Cant even think about guessing after the turd they laid last year. "great winter, below normal temps and above average precip"!super1c said:Dont even want to speculate anymore. Um... not so much.
They have a hard enough time predicting the weather for tomorrow.....let alone the next 7 months!! Lol

Ditto, it will be what it is when it comes. I'm not gonna lose sleep thinking about it.

For me it doesn't matter. Love the snow and always hope for tons of it. But at the end of the winter I always do the same mileage on my sled. Only a couple of outings in the trails per year. The rest is all on the lake.
If I would have a brand new machine then for sure I would be traveling to find snow if needed. No excuse to bitch.

Hey BLUE, How far away from you is the UP of Michigan?? I would love to show you some great trails. We travel up to and over 12 hr drive one way to go riding. Heck every year we travel to North West corner of Minnesota, that is about 750 miles one way for us. We ride for two weeks in Minnesota, and them make our way back east. Spending another 10 days in the UP/lower Michigan. Overall in about 3 1/2 weeks we travel around 1200 miles on the sleds and 2000 miles on the truck and trailer. Memories, Memories being made. Come ride with us. In fact, I invite any TY member for an open invitation to go riding. Just contact me and maybe we can make arrangments. Al
