Here's my sad story. When I bought my SRX, the helmet heater was hooked into my powervalve test leads, so I unhooked them and hooked the helmet heater into the blue wire running into the high beam switch under the handlebar pad. When I went to hit my high beam last night my headlight went completely out then my sled died. It took awhile to get it started back up, but then it ran fine, untill I go to start it again. It fires up perfect but then tries to die? It did not do any of this before I used my brights that night and had this problem. Anyone heard of this before???
is your Electric Shield shorted...disconnect that and see if you have the same results.

Tried that, already took it off. I checked all the wires under the handlebar pad and everything looked good. When I put all the connectors back together it seemed to work again, for awhile. I just got in from 40 miles of riding and it's doing it again, every time the high beam is pushed, it dies, and then is hard starting. I'm very confused.
sounds like that could be the relay for the high beem is causing this...I would take it to a dealer and have the realy tested unless you can get someones that you know and switch with them.

By the relay you mean the handlebar switch itself, right?
no, there is a load ontrol relay for the lighting near the CDI....not sure on the color but its blue or white little box shaped item. This has been a problem with starting issues on SRX's and SX-R's

10-4, I was wondering what those things were for. It seems logical that when the shield was drawing power from the headlight that it was fine on low beam, but once I hit high beam, the load may have been to much for the relays and now its damaged. I will try to get a new one ASAP, but there is snow and low beam is ridable so here I go.
