Stolen link from "A couple of bucks" Stock caps should have a collar that rolls back and cap twists off, pull old collar and replace with new. Some guys just clip the old one off with snips or a pair of dikes. You lose approx 1/4 of wire doing this. If the end of your plug wire is fraying/delaminating you want to clip it off anyways. I dont know what you bought, Last time I bought some I went to 3 "sled shops" that tried selling me the wrong ones. The 5 ohm resisantance is KEY, none=BAD,10=BAD 5= GOOD! If you search "plug caps" alot of other threads with lots of guys having phantom issues resolved by cap replacement.

Thanks I'll look into that never actually rolled the collar back. I actually found some NGK caps that are rated 5k ohms which is what I believe I need and the great thing is their only 3.00 each. Just a little nervous about cutting the wires.
