Driveshaft
Take off the speedo cover, remove the drive gear from the other side. Ou need to remove he bearing on the gear case side. The clip needs to be removed that is holding in the bearing. Then the bearing will come out. Loosen the track. The drive shaft needles to be shoved towards the gear side. It should clear the speedo side. Then it should drop down and slide out towards the side. It can be a bear, but it will come.

I am far from skilled in Snowmobiles (yet)... but found some stuff on the tytech page to help you (I think). Forgive my ignorance, but I don't even know what a MM is? Mountain Max? Anyway, probably easier for me to search (Since I'm not kneep deep into your sled): http://www.totallyamaha.com/snowmobiles/aaTECH/Suspension/replacing_track.htm
Hope it's helpful!
If anyone is ripping out, replacing, upgrading their sled in my neck of the woods, holler @ me to help. I need to learn, and definitely know the difference between a 3/8" drive 14mm deep socket, and channel lock pliers. (Besides practicing on someone elses sled keeps mine running :-))
I'm near Saratoga Springs, New York.

Open the chainchase, take the chain and gears out, and if I remember you need to remove the whole chaincase housing, been a few years. Also I think there may be a lock collar on the inside of the tunnel on the speedo side you'll have to loosen.
