Trying to figure out where to mount my slidekick ice scratchers. Im leaving the front two boggies on so im thinking right there in that space behind them. The rail is still tall enough to allow drilling a hole for mounting. Just wondering if anyone else runs these and where they put them on the proaction. I could not come up with a lot of info on them here. I saw muscleman runs them but his are on the underside of the tunnel best i could tell and i want mine on the skid. Thanks, chris

put them right where the second idler up front mounts and use the idler wheel with it in same place.I have been doing this for 2 seasons already with no problems.

Blue that sound like what i may be looking for but not quite sure what you did. Do you have a pic? Thanks chris

don't have any pics of it.I didn't want to eliminate the 2 idlers. You remove the bracket that is attached to rail and toss it.Then put bolt thru idler, place a large enough washer after it so the scratcher will be against it and another washer after the scratcher..then slide thru the hole in rails and attach nut behind. It is strong enough this way.I have tested it well with all the jumps I have done with both sleds and the bolt is still secure and straight. Will try and get you a pic.

I see what you mean. Is that for the spring type ice scratcher? Sounds like what i did when i mounted my rsi scratchers. Im looking to install the cable type now with the reverse so i dont have to worry about remembering to pick them up when backing up. Ill be running them alot more with going to 144". Any thoughts on the cable type?

the cable type can't really cut much on ice as I could see compared to spring type.I always have a nice spray on both sides going on and guys running behind me get chunks in their windshield and helmet visors...lol..love the spray, looks like you are floating on a cloud from a side view..

Chris,
I have that style on my viper too. I mounted them right tight to the rear (of the 2) wheels.

I find that they work very well. Like blue said, im not sure about running on ice, but if there is ANY snow at all, they work great. I NEVER have anyone on my butt because they just get pounded with chunks. I had over heating and slide issues but no problems now. I notice that a lot of the spray doesnt make it in the track so i may look for a new mounting location this fall. I dont need it, but the more snow that makes in in, the better off you are. Im thinking right under the footwells. that way more would make it inside the track. the issue then becomes how to hang them up when loading it on the trailer. Im sure i'll come up with something (if you dont first). Let us know what route you go.

Perfect thanks, thats where i was thinking. I may also play around with a few different points. But it looks like you had tons of snow inside the skid so they must be working. These wont be on the ice so im not really worried about that. Just want to keep things cool and the longer slides lubed. Chris
