ok i just bought a used 700 sxr 2000 sled. Was just wondering what bolt or what to drain chaincase. Or do I take whole cover off?? Let me know fellas

If it's your first time, take the entire cover off. You'll be able to remove the sludge and gunk that is left in there, that draining just will not get out. Because you don't know how the last guy took care of the chain case. You'll also be able to inspect the chain, count your teeth and look over the gears. Just a general 'once over'. I removed one quite a while ago that I'll swear, someone put grease in. That's how much cr@p was in the fluid well, at the bottom of the chain case.

I'll chime in here and agree with Couple A Bucks, I always feel better taking the cover off and visually inspecting everything. Get some carb or brake cleaner and clean it out good. The gasket is reusable.

playing that game here soon on my sled too

gonna find out just how nice the previous owner was to it lol
