Hey guys just wondering if anyone used a viper cdi on a stock 2001 srx 700 for 660 ft on tar? Did it seem to work with more timing?
Hummm
Funky timing curve on the viper. You might be further ahead by using an offset keyway and the SRX timing. Someone else on here with more knowledge on this will probably chime in. Send a pm to MRVIPER700 or jabber or somboday like that.

100 % PER CENT USE IT. WORKS GREAT FOR RACING. WATCH FUEL AND JETTING. WERE USEING ONE IN THE 1/4 MILE ON A SXR 700 RED HEAD. 4 HP ON THE DYNO AT C&H. 3:16 (yammie tony)
How about the 2000 srx do I have to get the whole wiring harness for the 2000 or just the viper cdi ?

My guess is it would have to b earlier than 04 when they put dcs on them and the pushbutton heater controls on the handlebars

It will make a little more power BUT its not just plug it in and rip it! Youll need to completely change the ENTIRE fuel curve, pilot, needle and main to go along wiith it.
Adding timing puts more HEAT into the piston, so if you dont add extra fuel, youll have a nice melted piston and sure engine failure.
viper cdi 02-03 plugs right into a 01 srx.
2000 srx is a goofy 1 year only harness.

would 110 octane keep the added heat out of the piston?

is the timing curve advanced all the way up to 10K on the Viper box?
Thanks guys I guess I will be looking for one. Has anyone tryed the diffrence between the 10" assphalt track and the 15" assphalt track. Is it worth remodifing the suspension or is it not worth it for the difference you gain with the weight savings.

10 5/8" is about 3 tenths a second and about 3-5 mph faster.
so there's a fair amount of difference and what you are saying is it is worth it. Does anyone have a picture of a srx with a 10" track? Actually I would love to see pics of an srx set for assphalt if anyone has them.
