I may try to tackle the conversion of my 98 to 2000 specs again this year and am lining up parts.I was wondering if there is a TPS on the 2000 carb rack or will I be able to use my 98 carbs?

if your running the 2000 ign. system with cdi then yes, you will need the carb track from 2000-02 srx with tps sensor

One issue with the 2000 SRX wiring harness ect is that the 2000 SRX had a unique CDI that may be difficult to aquire. The 2001 and 2002 CDIs have a different connector and may be easier to get. The 2003 Viper CDI also matches the 2001 and 2002 SRX connectors.

There's one or two on Ebay now plus a couple of members have pm'd me with parts to sell including cdi's.I was contemplating going with 01 specs vs 00 but it's depends on what I can find for parts.

I was just looking at the micrfiche for the 2000 SRX carbs and there's no tps listed for that year carb rack.I have a chance to buy a carb rack but there's no tps on it,I had to go to 2001 to get the part number for the tps. What gives?

I can assure you of a few things. My 98&99 srx 700 DONT have TPS. My 00&01 both DO. I beleive some of the newer sxr, vmax 's use same rack but have different needles/settings. If you cant find a set off from an srx may be able to tweek another rack with TPS.

You also could pick up a Viper carb rack(they all have TPS) and transfer all the SRX jets needles slides ect over....bit of a pain but it would work

That idea has been brought forth Bob I kind of figured they'd be the same carb except for the brass. You mention slides too,are the throttle slides different from Viper to SRX?They look the same to me.

I was under the impression srx had richer slides too. I have a Viper rack for sale if you choose to go that route. could probably even switch everything over for you, I'd have to check my parts bins.

The slides do indeed have a different part number, must be for a reason.Stagg I will keep you in mind for the carbs,Viperking has a stash of parts that I may just grab and he has a carb rack off an SRX.
