Bought a 1999 SRX 700 a couple months ago and compression checked good and plugs looked a little rich and seemed to run good. obviously at that time I could only do a short burst accross a yard. It has Aaens pipes and mega power heads with a stiffener plate accross the heads. I decided to remove the stiffener plate permantly and do an inspection before the season started and found one of the pistons burnt on the exhaust side with a piece of the top ring broken. Bottom ring still functioning. Cylinder bore was OK but it did leave damage at the top of the exhaust port which leaves me not comfortable using that cylinder. I was told it had minor trail porting but the previous owner wasn't sure who it was done by and it looks like the exhaust port may have had some work. There is also a code scribed on the side of the head. It is BR1162TBB. Does any body recognize this code so I might know who did the porting a get another jug matched up. Got to make a decision which way I want to proceed with this motor.

cant help you with the code but any competent engine builder should be able to match it. but they will probably want to put their own touch on all of them.

Sounds like a Bender Racing number to me...I always thought the BB at the end referred to Big Bore...maybe not.

BR1162BB is a bender # & it was for a '99 srx 835 that went to hackers yamaha. it would be stamped on the cylinder not scribed on the head? also T was not used in bender stampings & they did not use mega power heads...stock heads

Thanks for the responses. Bought this sled for fast trail riding only. I mis spoke as it is stamped on the jug and not the head. Looked at them again and its definately BR1162TBB. Live in central Indiana so there are no shops around here to gather info or get work done. The insert in the head is pretty roughed up around the squish band and from what I've read from the sight you can no longer get them. Will call Benders and see if they can offer any help. Thanks, Tom
