Got looking at my extended brake line from RSI. When i ordered it and just now double checked it, it says fits 04 viper S. Well when i look at my 04 viper the break line has a banjo fitting on each end. The RSI cable has one male end and one banjo end. Can i still use this on my viper or do i need to order a different brake line? If i do have to order a different one i can not find any other one that says fits 04 viper s. Im stumped for sure????? Any help on this one would be great.

wrong line, period. ran into this twice last year with rsi. chances are your stock bolt wont fit the banjo either. you may want to check that before making a call.
give them a call, they will make it right along with some bs about must be mislabeled, blah, blah(heard it before). be sure and get the persons name your dealing with so when they send you the same one you have as a replacement you can talk directly while waiting another week.
sad part is the down time waiting for correct parts. i pretty much gave up on rsi for yamaha parts.

Powermadd also makes a braided brake line. Worked great on mine. Just checked there website and they don't offer one for 04 vipers. Thats weird. Take it that 03 and 04 vipers dont have the same brake line??

nope. pre-04 used the male/banjo style like the one super got. the banjo/banjo started with the rx1 in 03 and carried over to most the others the following year.

Sent RSI one back and just went mtn viper oem one. Called port yamaha and it will be perfect for the rise im doing. Actually i mocked up my apex bars with a powermadd pivot adapter and 6" riser block and i could have gotten away with the stock brake line by rotating the banjo fitting a bit. Had plenty of slack when turned all the way left. But i did have to rotate it and seeing i was ordering the throttle/oil cable i just got the mtn viper brake line also. They said all cable and lines are about 2-3 inches longer for the mtn viper which is all i need. The parking brake and choke were fine. Thanks for getting me in the right direction snowdad!!!

I would have them measure the Viper mountain one. I ordered one with the cables and the brake was the same as my stock one, I think around 30". It might save you some restocking charges. I double and triple checked and they all had the Viper mountain prefix, cables were longer though.

Man when i talked to port yamaha they said the 04mtn viper brake cable was longer then stock. So im hoping they are right. We shall see. I even made a point to make sure it was longer with the rise i was doing and they said yes.

Chris, 04 mountain viper is approx 32 inches center of banjo to center of banjo. measured best I could with a tailors tape on the sled. You can check that vs your stock one. That is approx 3 inches longer than the 02 one but thats the old style hose so that might be different from yours.

Well the guys at port yamaha were right. I measured with a tailors tape from banjo to banjo and the longest i could make my stock 04 S line was 29". So looks like its 3" longer then stock. That will be perfect and also put the mind at ease. Thanks for the info and help staggs.
